How to bind a key in CS2
Type bind space +jump in your game console to put a command on a key. Wrap the command in quotes if it has spaces or several parts.
bind
Assigns a command to a key so pressing the key runs it; with only a key it shows the current binding.
bind <key> "<command>" Examples
bind space +jump Jump on the space bar.
bind mwheeldown +jump Jump with the scroll wheel, popular for bunny hopping.
bind f3 "say_team Need a drop" Send a team message with one key.
Arguments
keyRequired- Key name such as
mouse4,space,f3,kp_enterormwheeldown. commandOptional- Command or commands to run. Use quotes and
;between several.
What it does
The way to put any command on a key. Wrap the command in quotes when it contains spaces or several commands separated by semicolons. Binds made in the console are saved to your key config, and keeping them in autoexec.cfg lets you restore them after a reset.
The game's own description: Bind a key.
Good to know
- CS2 does not allow one key to run several movement or attack actions at once, so old jump-throw style binds no longer work.
- Run
bind <key>with no command to see what a key is bound to.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
