How to change the timeout on a CS 1.6 server
Type sv_timeout 120 in the server console so players are dropped only after 120 seconds without data. The default is 60.
sv_timeout
Seconds without hearing from a player before the server drops them.
sv_timeout <seconds> Examples
sv_timeout 60 Default value.
sv_timeout 120 More time for slow loaders and downloads.
Arguments
secondsRequired- Timeout in seconds.
What it does
If no data arrives from a player for this long, they are disconnected and their slot freed. Players loading a large map or downloading content can be dropped if the value is too low. Lower it to clear out crashed players faster, raise it if people get kicked while loading.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
