How to ban a player by ID on a Valheim server

Add the player's ID, like Steam_76561198000000000, on its own line in bannedlist.txt in the server's save folder, then restart the server.

bannedlist.txt

Lists the players banned from the server, one Platform User ID per line.

<Platform>_<UserID> (one ID per line)

Examples

Steam_76561198000000000

Bans this Steam player.

Arguments

Platform_UserIDRequired
A Platform User ID such as Steam_76561198000000000. Case sensitive.

What it does

The ban command adds entries here and unban removes them. You can also edit it by hand. The file is in the save folder.

Good to know

  • IDs are case sensitive.
