How to ban a player in Valheim

Open the F5 console as an admin and type ban Ragnar, using a name or Steam ID. The ban is saved in bannedlist.txt and survives restarts.

ban

Blocks a player from the server so they cannot rejoin, saved in bannedlist.txt.

ban <player>

Examples

ban Ragnar

Bans the player named Ragnar.

ban Steam_76561198000000000

Bans by Platform User ID.

Arguments

playerRequired: The player's name. Platform User ID or IP also work.

What it does

Typed by an admin in the F5 console. The ban is written to bannedlist.txt, so it survives restarts. Undo it with unban.

Good to know

Requires admin rights from adminlist.txt.
