How to allow uneven teams in TF2

Type mp_teams_unbalance_limit 0 in the server console to let players join the bigger team. The default 1 blocks joins once teams differ by one.

mp_teams_unbalance_limit

Sets how many more players one team can have than the other before teams count as unbalanced.

mp_teams_unbalance_limit <players>

Examples

mp_teams_unbalance_limit 1

Keep teams within one player.

mp_teams_unbalance_limit 0

No limit, players can join any team.

Arguments

playersRequired
Allowed player difference, 0 to 30. 0 disables the check.

What it does

Used by autobalance and by the team menu, which stops players joining the bigger team once the gap reaches this limit. 0 disables the check, which lets players stack a team. Leagues set 0 for matches.

The game's own description: Teams are unbalanced when one team has this many more players than the other team. (0 disables check)

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
