How to end the match when time runs out in TF2

Type mp_match_end_at_timelimit 1 in the server console so the match ends the moment mp_timelimit hits zero instead of finishing the round.

mp_match_end_at_timelimit

Toggles whether the match ends the moment the time limit runs out instead of waiting for the current round to finish.

mp_match_end_at_timelimit <0|1>

Examples

mp_match_end_at_timelimit 1

Stop the match as soon as the map timer reaches zero.

Values

ValueWhat it does
0Default Finish the current round first
1 End immediately at the time limit

Arguments

0|1Required
1 ends the match exactly at the time limit.

What it does

By default TF2 lets the current round finish after mp_timelimit expires. With this set to 1 the match ends as soon as the map timer hits zero. Competitive leagues usually turn it on so matches finish on time.

The game's own description: Allow the match to end when mp_timelimit hits instead of waiting for the end of the current round.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
