How to raise spawns on a low-pop Rust server

Type spawn.min_density 1 in the server console so resources and animals spawn at full density even when few players are online. Default is 0.5.

spawn.min_density

Sets the lower population density scalar used when few players are online.

spawn.min_density <scalar>

Examples

spawn.min_density 1

Full density even with few players.

Arguments

scalarRequired
Density multiplier at low player counts. Default 0.5.

What it does

At low player counts spawns fill to this density, rising toward spawn.max_density as the server fills up. Raise it on low-pop servers so the map does not feel empty.

The game's own description: Minimum population density scalar; controls the lower bound for how densely spawnable items fill their designated spawn areas at low player counts

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
