How to set Rust server tags

Type server.tags "monthly, vanilla,EU" in the server console to set the tags the server browser uses to label and filter your server.

server.tags

Sets the comma-separated tags that the server browser uses to filter and label your server.

server.tags "<tag1>,<tag2>,..."

Examples

server.tags "monthly,vanilla,EU"

Monthly vanilla server in Europe.

Arguments

tagsRequired
Comma-separated list of browser tags.

What it does

Tags let players find your server with the browser filters, for example by wipe schedule, play style or region. Write them as one comma-separated value without spaces. Only tags the browser recognizes have an effect, so stick to the documented ones such as monthly, weekly, vanilla and region codes like EU or NA.

The game's own description: Comma-separated server browser tag values (see wiki)

Good to know

  • Unknown tags are ignored by the browser filters.

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
