How to set a message of the day in Rust

Type server.motd "Welcome. Wipe every first Thursday." in the server console to set the server's message of the day.

server.motd

Sets the server's message of the day text.

server.motd "<text>"

Examples

server.motd "Welcome. Wipe every first Thursday."

Set a short welcome line.

Arguments

textRequired
The message text, in quotes.

What it does

Stores a short message of the day for the server. Vanilla Rust has no welcome popup, so information every player must see, such as rules and wipe times, usually goes in server.description as well.

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
