How to enable WebRCON on a Rust server
Add +rcon.web 1 to the launch options to use websocket RCON (WebRCON), which most RCON tools expect. 0 is the old Source protocol.
rcon.web
Switches RCON between websocket (WebRCON) and the deprecated Source-style protocol.
+rcon.web <1|0> Examples
+rcon.web 1 Use WebRCON.
Values
| Value | What it does |
|---|---|
| True | WebRCON (websocket) |
| False | Legacy Source RCON (deprecated) |
Arguments
stateRequired- 1 or True for WebRCON, 0 for legacy Source RCON.
What it does
Most current admin tools and hosting panels use WebRCON, so set it to true. The legacy Source RCON mode is deprecated.
The game's own description: If set to true, use websocket RCON. If set to false use legacy, source engine RCON. Source engine RCON is DEPRECATED
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
