How to set the Rust+ app port on a Rust server

Add +app.port 28082 to the server's launch options to set the port the Rust+ companion app connects on, and open that port in your firewall.

app.port

Sets the port for the Rust+ companion app; the default in this build is 28082.

+app.port <port>

Examples

+app.port 28082

Default Rust+ port.

Arguments

portRequired
Port for the Rust+ companion server.

What it does

Rust+ lets players pair their phone with the server for map, team chat, alarms and smart devices. The port must be reachable from the internet for pairing and notifications to work.

The game's own description: UDP port number the server listens on; default is 28015; must be open in firewall for players to connect

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
