demo.record <player>

Examples

demo.record "PlayerName"

Start recording a player.

Arguments

playerRequired

What it does

Records what the player does to a timestamped demo file on the server, so you can review it later. A common tool for gathering evidence on a suspected cheater without them noticing.

The game's own description: Starts recording a server-side demo for the specified player by name or Steam ID to a timestamped file; the player must be connected

Good to know

  • Long recordings are split into several files by demo.splitseconds and demo.splitmegabytes.

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
