How to change your network rate in CS2

Type rate 786432 in your game console to accept the full data rate from the server. Lower it only if you see choke or loss.

rate

Sets the maximum network data rate your game accepts from the server, in bytes per second.

rate <bytes per second>

Examples

rate 786432

The default rate.

Arguments

bytesRequired
Data rate in bytes per second.

What it does

Caps how much data per second the server may send you. The default suits almost every connection; lower it only if your connection struggles and you see choke or loss.

The game's own description: Min bytes/sec the host can receive data

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
