How to switch to wingman on a CS2 server

Type game_type 0; game_mode 2 in the server console, then change map, and the server runs wingman. Mode 1 is competitive, 0 casual.

game_mode

Sets the game mode within the current game_type, such as competitive or wingman.

game_mode <mode>

Examples

game_type 0; game_mode 2

Wingman.

game_type 0; game_mode 0

Casual.

Arguments

modeRequired
Game mode number within the game type.

What it does

Works together with game_type: for type 0, mode 0 is casual, 1 is competitive and 2 is wingman. For type 1, mode 0 is arms race and mode 2 is deathmatch. The change applies on the next map load.

The game's own description: The current game mode (based on game type). See GameModes.txt.

Good to know

  • Each mode loads its own config, such as gamemode_competitive.cfg, on top of server.cfg.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
