sv_aim

Half-Life autoaim switch. Counter-Strike weapons fire where you point, so it has no real effect.

sv_aim <0|1>

Examples

sv_aim 0

Common line in old server.cfg files. Harmless, no gameplay change.

Values

ValueWhat it does
0 Autoaim off
1Default Autoaim on

Arguments

0|1Required
0 turns autoaim off, 1 turns it on.

What it does

In Half-Life this let the game nudge shots toward nearby targets. Counter-Strike weapons fire straight along the crosshair and ignore autoaim, so the value does not change gameplay. Many old server configs set it to 0 anyway, which is harmless.

Good to know

  • Saved to the config file and visible in the server rules.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
