How to set your admin password in CS 1.6
Type setinfo _pw "mypassword" in your game console before joining, and AMX Mod X reads it to log you in as admin.
setinfo
Client command that sets a key in the player's user info, for example an admin password key.
setinfo <key> <value> Examples
setinfo _pw "mypassword" Typed by a player; sets the password an admin plugin may check.
Arguments
keyRequired- Name of the user info key.
valueRequired- Value to store.
What it does
Sets a value in a player's user info, which the server can read. Players type it in their own console, for example the password key that AMX Mod X admin logins use, commonly setinfo _pw. Typed in the server console it does not change any player.
Good to know
- Keys starting with _ are kept private and not sent to other players.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
