How to limit classes on a TF2 server

Type tf_classlimit 2 in the server console so no more than two players per team can pick the same class. 0 means no limit.

tf_classlimit

Limits how many players can play each class per team on public servers. 0 means no limit.

tf_classlimit <limit>

Examples

tf_classlimit 2

At most two of each class per team.

Arguments

limitRequired
Players per class per team. 0 disables the limit.

What it does

Applies one limit to every class, for example 2 means no more than two Snipers or two Spies per team. It is a simple way to stop class stacking. In tournament mode the per-class tf_tournament_classlimit_* settings are used instead.

The game's own description: Limit on how many players can be any class (i.e. tf_class_limit 2 would limit 2 players per class).

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
