How to set the number of bots in TF2

Type tf_bot_quota 12 in the server console and the server keeps 12 bots in the game. tf_bot_quota 0 removes them.

tf_bot_quota

Sets how many TFBots the server keeps in the game.

tf_bot_quota <count>

Examples

tf_bot_quota 12

Keep twelve bots, or fill to twelve players in fill mode.

tf_bot_quota 0

No quota bots.

Arguments

countRequired
Target number of bots, or total players in fill mode.

What it does

The server adds or removes bots to match this number. How the number is used depends on tf_bot_quota_mode: a fixed count, enough bots to fill the server to N players, or a ratio to humans. Set it to 0 to remove quota-managed bots.

The game's own description: Determines the total number of tf bots in the game.

Good to know

  • Bots need a navigation mesh. Maps without a .nav file need nav_generate first.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
