How to change respawn time in TF2

Type mp_respawnwavetime 5 in the server console to set 5 seconds between respawn waves. The default is 10.

mp_respawnwavetime

Sets the base time between respawn waves in seconds.

mp_respawnwavetime <seconds>

Examples

mp_respawnwavetime 5

Faster respawns for a casual server.

mp_respawnwavetime 10

Back to the usual base value.

Arguments

secondsRequired
Base seconds between respawn waves.

What it does

Dead players respawn together in waves. This value is the base wave interval; the final time a player waits also depends on the map and team size. Lower it for faster action, raise it for more punishing deaths.

The game's own description: Time between respawn waves.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
