How to start a vote in TF2

Type callvote ScrambleTeams in your game console to start a scramble vote. Other votes, like callvote NextLevel cp_process_final, need the server to allow them.

callvote

Starts a vote on an issue, such as kicking a player, changing the map or scrambling teams.

callvote <issue> [details]

Examples

callvote ScrambleTeams

Vote to scramble the teams.

callvote NextLevel cp_process_final

Vote for the next map.

Arguments

issueRequired
Vote type, for example ScrambleTeams, NextLevel or Kick.
detailsOptional
Extra data such as a map name or player user ID.

What it does

Players normally start votes from the vote menu, but this works in binds and the console. Only issues enabled by the sv_vote_issue_* settings can be called.

The game's own description: Start a vote on an issue.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to tf/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a TF2 server first.
