How to change max players in Rust
Type server.maxplayers 100 in the server console to allow up to 100 players at once, or add +server.maxplayers 100 to the launch options.
server.maxplayers
Sets the maximum number of players that can be connected to the server at the same time.
server.maxplayers <count> Examples
server.maxplayers 100 Allow up to 100 players.
+server.maxplayers 50 Set the player cap on the launch line.
Arguments
countRequired- Maximum number of connected players.
What it does
When the server is full, new players wait in the connection queue. Set it on the launch line or in server.cfg; you can also raise it live from the console. Keep it in line with what your hardware and plan can handle, since entity and player counts drive CPU and memory use.
The game's own description: Maximum number of players allowed on the server at the same time
Good to know
- Players with skip-queue rights go to the front of the queue when the server is full.
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
