How to make yourself admin in Rust
Type global.ownerid 76561198000000000 "YourName" in the server console with your Steam64 ID to become owner (full admin), then server.writecfg to save it.
global.ownerid
Makes a Steam64 ID a server owner, the highest admin level (auth level 2).
ownerid <steamid> ["name"] ["reason"] Examples
ownerid 76561198000000000 "Jonathan" "Server owner" Add an owner.
server.writecfg Save it to users.cfg.
Arguments
steamidRequired- The player's Steam64 ID.
nameOptional- Name stored with the entry.
reasonOptional- Note stored with the entry.
What it does
Owners get full admin rights in the F1 console and admin UI. The optional name and reason are stored for your records. Only an owner, or the server console and RCON, can add another owner. Run server.writecfg so the entry is saved to users.cfg.
The game's own description: Adds the specified Steam64 ID as a server owner (auth level 2) with optional name and reason; requires the caller to also be auth level 2
Good to know
- If the player is online they get the admin flag right away; otherwise on their next join.
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
