How to set the max command rate in GMod

Type sv_maxcmdrate 66 in the server console to cap the input packets each client sends per second, usually matching the tickrate.

sv_maxcmdrate

Sets the most input packets per second the server accepts from each client.

sv_maxcmdrate <packets/sec>

Examples

sv_maxcmdrate 66

Match the default tickrate.

Arguments

packets/secRequired
Maximum command rate.

What it does

Usually set to the server tickrate, like sv_maxupdaterate. Only enforced while sv_mincmdrate is above 0.

The game's own description: (If sv_mincmdrate is > 0), this sets the maximum value for cl_cmdrate.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a GMod server first.
