How to log clientside Lua errors in GMod

Type sv_log_client_errors 1 in the server console and players' clientside Lua errors are saved to clientside_errors.txt on the server.

sv_log_client_errors

Controls whether clientside Lua errors from players are logged to clientside_errors.txt or the console.

sv_log_client_errors <value>

Examples

sv_log_client_errors 1

Log client errors to file.

Arguments

valueRequired
Above 0 logs to file, 0 logs to the console only.

What it does

Above 0, errors players hit are written to clientside_errors.txt on the server, which helps find broken addons. At 0 they go to the console only.

The game's own description: Above 0 = log clientside errors to 'clientside_errors.txt'. 0 = Log to console only. Below 0 = do not even print those errors on console.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a GMod server first.
