How to find Lua variables on a GMod server

Type lua_find ULib in the server console to print every global Lua variable and function whose name matches that text.

lua_find

Searches the server's Lua environment for variables whose names match the given text.

lua_find <text>

Examples

lua_find ULib

See if an admin library is loaded.

Arguments

textRequired
Part of the variable name to search for.

What it does

Prints matching global variables and functions, which helps when debugging what an addon has defined.

The game's own description: Find any variable by name on the server.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a GMod server first.
