How to hide your GMod server from the browser

Type hide_server 1 in the server console to drop the server from the public server browser. Players who know the address can still join.

What it does

When on, the server is not listed on the Steam master server, so only players who know the address can join. Combine with sv_password for a private server.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a GMod server first.
