How to change the dynamite limit in GMod

Type sbox_maxdynamite 3 in the server console so each player can have 3 dynamite placed at once; -1 removes the limit.

sbox_maxdynamite

Sets the maximum number of dynamite each player can have spawned at once on a Sandbox server.

sbox_maxdynamite <count>

Examples

sbox_maxdynamite 3

Keep explosives scarce on a public server.

sbox_maxdynamite -1

No limit. Only sensible on small private servers.

Arguments

countRequired
Maximum dynamite per player.

What it does

Caps how many dynamite a single player can own at the same time. When a player reaches the cap, Sandbox shows a limit message and refuses to spawn more until they remove some. Counts dynamite placed with the Dynamite tool. To block the tool completely, use toolmode_allow_dynamite instead.

The game's own description: Maximum dynamites a single player can create

Good to know

  • A negative value such as -1 removes the limit, and 0 blocks spawning entirely.
  • Limits are not applied in single player.
  • The limit counts per player, so the server total can be this value times the player count.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a GMod server first.
