How to change viewmodel FOV in TF2

Type viewmodel_fov 70 in your game console to change how big your weapon looks. Higher values push it away; your real view stays the same.

viewmodel_fov

Sets the field of view for your weapon model, which changes how big and where your weapon appears.

viewmodel_fov <degrees>

Examples

viewmodel_fov 70

Weapon a bit further away.

viewmodel_fov 54

The default view.

Arguments

degreesRequired
Weapon FOV.

What it does

Higher values push the weapon further away and show less of it on screen. Many players use 70 to 90. It does not change your actual view, only the weapon.

The game's own description: Sets the field-of-view for the viewmodel.

Use it in your game

Type it in your own game console: turn on the developer console in the game's settings, then press the key under Esc. To keep it, put the line in tf/cfg/autoexec.cfg.
